Design Details

One of the big challenges for us as a developer and builder (and the architect), is to make sure that the village looks traditional in style whilst using the latest building techniques. The architects involved toured around ruined villages as well as Campico and researched extensively with the developer on how buildings look. For example, many modern developments use fancy mouldings under the roof line and fancy roof shapes. That is not traditional. If you look at the plans throughout this website you will notice that we are not using moulding (apart from the Mayors house), but simple wall and roof joinings. You'll find below just a few examples of how we are going to achieve a more traditional looking village.

Traditional Spanish Archways Campico De Honor Spanish Archway Style

Use of archways will create shady areas and add to the traditional entrance style that one would find in Andalucian villages.

Traditional Andalucian Cemented Windows Campico De Honor Cemented Window Style

You'll see cemented frames around many windows in Andalucia. You'll find it in Campico too.

Stroll around any old hamlet and you'll find stone steps up to higher levels of buildings. We are incorporating a similar style for our apartment upper levels.

Traditional Stone Steps Campico De Honor Higher Level Stone Steps

Rejas have an interesting story. There were used on upper floors to stop over amorous men getting to the ladies! We are using them for security and style. (Well, that depends on what you get up to!)
