CR Gibbs & Sons was formed in 1970 by Charles Gibbs and his son John. Based in the City of Sheffield, the company has gone from strength to strength over the years by employing good solid business values and practices and now has a reputation for quality and reliability. They have a workforce of around 70 staff and about the same again as regular sub contractors who help to achieve a regular turnover each year of £6 million.
Gibbs has worked on a wide range of projects in the public sector such as hospitals, schools and universities. This has widened to include renovation on churches into accommodation that have been widely acclaimed including the winning of awards for the quality and design. Most recently, Gibbs developed an historic building into modern loft apartments maintaining as many of the original features as possible.
Charles Gibbs retired many years ago and John recently. The family retired to Spain for the quiet life and John had a couple of houses built by a local builder in Spain (one being the renovation of an old cortijo for his father). John became friends with the builder Juan Sanchez (John in above picture) and the opportunity to develop Campico de Honor came about. It stared as a project on small scale and John often quotes that it was for the 'love of building' that he got involved. Even though the project has blossomed into something bigger and better John maintains that he doesn't want it to become like other Spanish property developments which can be very similar in style. The whole team at Gibbs Spain SL are working hard to retain the charm and character as it started out.
